Visakha Container Terminal (VCT) marked key milestone
Visakha Container Terminal (VCT) has achieved a significant milestone with the maiden call of M.V. Ulsan Voyager, a vessel deployed under Sinokor Lines’ IFX2 service. The 196-metre-long ship, with an impressive capacity of 2,548 TEU, berthed at the terminal on Monday, marking a new chapter in VCT’s journey towards strengthening international maritime connectivity.
Boost to Direct Far East Trade Connectivity
The arrival of M.V. Ulsan Voyager represents a major enhancement in direct trade routes between Visakhapatnam and key Far East Asian ports. The IFX2 service offers an efficient and strategically designed rotation covering Visakhapatnam – Port Klang – Shekou – Qingdao – Shanghai – Ningbo – Shekou – Chennai.
This new link is expected to sharply reduce transit times, offering exporters and importers faster access to vital East and Southeast Asian markets.
Strengthening Regional Trade Competitiveness
With the addition of the IFX2 service, regional traders stand to gain expanded market access and improved logistical efficiency. Exporters, especially those focusing on boosting their presence in Asia’s fast-growing economies, can leverage this service to reach customers more effectively.
Commitment to Seamless Logistics Solutions
According to terminal officials, the maiden call signifies VCT’s ongoing efforts to develop seamless and reliable multimodal logistics solutions. The new service will help diversify routing options and increase cargo movement flexibility, providing businesses with more competitive shipping choices.
A Strategic Gateway on India’s Eastern Coast
This milestone further reinforces Visakha Container Terminal’s position as a crucial gateway on India’s eastern seaboard. By integrating Visakhapatnam more deeply into global maritime networks, VCT continues to support regional trade growth and enhance India’s global connectivity footprint.
