RCB vs PBKS Ahmedabad Weather Forecast IPL 2025 Final: Rain threat looms large as both teams chase maiden title

The stage is set for the IPL 2025 Final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, but there's one unpredictable factor that could upset the grand spectacle the weather. As Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) prepare for the most important match in their IPL history, all eyes are not just on the players, but also on the skies above Ahmedabad.

High-Stakes Battle for a Historic First Title

Both RCB and PBKS have been part of the Indian Premier League since its inception, yet a title win has always eluded them. Now, in 2025, both franchises have the golden opportunity to rewrite their legacy.

Punjab Kings topped the league stage with 19 points, closely followed by RCB with the same points, only separated by Net Run Rate. However, RCB carries the psychological edge after a comprehensive win in Qualifier 1, their second win over PBKS this season, giving Rajat Patidar and Co. a boost heading into the finale.

Ahmedabad Weather Update – June 3

Unfortunately for fans and players alike, the weather forecast doesn’t look promising for the afternoon. According to AccuWeather, there's a 66% chance of rain on Sunday afternoon, with the temperature expected to soar around 38°C, accompanied by high humidity.

The good news? As the evening progresses, the rain probability dips to just 5%, although a lingering 33% cloud cover might still cast a shadow literally over the much-anticipated showdown.

Rain Plan in Place for the IPL Final

To prevent weather from stealing the limelight, IPL 2025 has included contingency measures:

  • An additional 120 minutes of extra playtime.

  • A reserve day, ensuring the match can be completed even if rain interrupts proceedings on the scheduled date.

These provisions aim to give fans and teams a fair, full contest no matter what the weather has in store.

Flashback: PBKS' Semi-Final Surge

Weather has already played a part this season. The PBKS vs MI Qualifier 2 experienced a delayed start due to rain, though the match went on uninterrupted afterward. Punjab Kings, led by 2024 title-winning captain Iyer, delivered a stunning performance, especially Iyer’s 41-ball unbeaten 87, which booked PBKS their first final appearance in 11 years.

RCB vs PBKS – A Rivalry Renewed

This season has seen three battles between RCB and PBKS:

  • PBKS won the first encounter.

  • RCB bounced back in the next two, including the crucial Qualifier 1.

Will RCB ride their momentum to their first title, or will PBKS break their 11-year final drought with a revenge victory?
