India Maritime Week 2025 set to begin in Mumbai
The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW), Government of India, is all set to host the India Maritime Week 2025 (IMW 2025) from 27th to 31st October 2025 at NESCO Grounds, Mumbai. Poised to be the world’s largest maritime gathering, the five-day event will unite policymakers, industry leaders, and global maritime stakeholders under the inspiring theme, “Uniting Oceans, One Maritime Vision.”
A Global Gathering of Leaders
IMW 2025 will witness participation from ministers representing 11 countries along with their industry delegations, highlighting the growing global interest in India’s maritime sector. The inaugural session will be graced by Amit Shah, Minister of Home Affairs, alongside Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis (Maharashtra), Bhupendra Patel (Gujarat), Dr. Pramod Sawant (Goa), and Mohan Charan Majhi (Odisha).
Showcasing India’s Maritime Strength
Speaking about the event, Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Minister for Ports, Shipping & Waterways, stated that “India Maritime Week is more than an event; it will position India as a global maritime hub, promote green and sustainable shipping, and enhance international maritime trade and connectivity.”
With over 100,000 delegates and representation from more than 85 countries, IMW 2025 will serve as a global platform to promote collaboration, innovation, and investment in the Blue Economy. International organizations, global maritime giants, and policy think tanks will come together to discuss sustainable growth, digital transformation, and strategic cooperation.
Prime Minister’s Key Address and Global CEO Forum
A major highlight will be the participation of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, who will address the nation and global maritime leaders on the evening of 29th October during a special plenary session. The Prime Minister will also chair a high-level Global CEO Forum, engaging with international CEOs from top maritime companies to chart a visionary roadmap for the sector’s growth.
Massive Investments and Strategic Dialogues
IMW 2025 will feature over 350 international speakers and is expected to witness the signing of more than 600 MoUs worth ₹10 lakh crore in investment commitments, demonstrating India’s emergence as a preferred destination for maritime investment and innovation.
