Aaditya Thackeray alleges BJP's 'dirty politics on Operation Sindoor, echoes call for special parliament session

In a strong political development, Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Aaditya Thackeray has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of playing “dirty politics” over Operation Sindoor. Echoing the unified demand of the Opposition, Thackeray called for a Special Session of Parliament to discuss the operation and recent national security issues.

Calls for Accountability After Pahalgam Attack

Raising serious concerns regarding the recent Pahalgam terrorist attack, Aaditya Thackeray questioned whether the attackers have been apprehended. “Truth should come out — how the terrorists got there. Have they been caught? Where are they now? Have they infiltrated the BJP?” he asked, underlining the urgency for transparent investigation and public accountability.

Unity Abroad, Division at Home

While speaking to the media, Thackeray highlighted the hypocrisy of political conduct, stating, “Yes, we are demanding this (Special Session). On one hand, we are united before the world to show how Pakistan-based terrorism can be dismantled. But on the other hand, some BJP leaders are playing dirty politics over Operation Sindoor within the country.”

He emphasized the need for a united and serious political approach when dealing with matters of national security rather than using them for political point-scoring.

Government Should Focus on Real Issues

In another strong remark, Thackeray criticized the government’s approach to religious festivals and urged them to refrain from interfering in citizens' celebrations. He commented, “Why should calls be made to save this or save that in every festival? Let people breathe. The government's job is not to interfere in festivals — it should be addressing critical issues like farmers’ suicides and flooding caused by heavy rains.”

He argued that energy should be redirected towards crisis management and security operations rather than public advisories on festival celebrations.

INDIA Bloc Unites for Special Session

Backed by the INDIA alliance, the demand for a special parliamentary session is gaining momentum. Leaders of 16 political parties met at the Constitution Club in Delhi on Tuesday, reinforcing their collective stance.

Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut, addressing the press post-meeting, declared, “There are signatures of 16 political parties on the letter that we have written to the Prime Minister. This is not a normal letter. The opposition is the voice of the public. We want a special session to be called to discuss whatever has happened in the country so far…”

Conclusion

As tensions rise over Operation Sindoor and questions remain unanswered about the Pahalgam attack, Aaditya Thackeray’s statements reflect growing discontent among opposition leaders. The call for a Special Parliament Session is now a pressing demand, aimed at ensuring transparency, accountability, and national unity on matters that deeply concern India's security and democratic functioning.
