In a remarkable career milestone, T. Venu Gopal, Secretary of Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA), has been promoted and appointed as the Deputy Chairman of Paradip Port Authority (PPA). A Distinguished Career in Port Administration
T. Venu Gopal began his professional journey at Visakhapatnam Port in 1995 as an Assistant Personnel Officer, marking the start of an illustrious career in port management and administration. Over the years, he has held several key positions across departments, contributing to the operational excellence and development of Indian ports.

In 2019, he was promoted and posted as Secretary of Deendayal (Kandla) Port Authority, one of India’s leading ports in Gujarat. Later, in 2020, he returned to Visakhapatnam Port Authority as Secretary, continuing his legacy of efficient governance and strategic leadership.

Leadership and Contributions at Visakhapatnam Port Authority
During his tenure at VPA, Venu Gopal played a pivotal role in organising major national and international events, including BIMSTEC, Indian Maritime Conclaves, the inauguration of the International Cruise Terminal, and the arrival of international cruise vessels. His vision and coordination strengthened VPA’s position as a vital maritime gateway in India’s eastern coast.

Beyond event leadership, he also implemented several flagship programmes of the Government of India, such as Swachh Bharat, IGoT, skill development, healthcare, and education initiatives, ensuring sustainable growth and employee welfare within the port ecosystem.
