UAE Deputy PM Inaugurates DP World’s Nhava Sheva Business Park in Mumbai

In a landmark event underscoring the strengthening economic ties between India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE, inaugurated DP World's state-of-the-art Free Trade Warehousing Zone (FTWZ) – the Nhava Sheva Business Park (NSBP) – in Mumbai, India, on April 10, 2025. 

A Strategic Leap in India-UAE Trade Relations

The inauguration of NSBP marks a significant milestone in the deep-rooted economic and cultural partnership between India and the UAE. Sheikh Hamdan emphasized that the establishment of world-class logistics infrastructure like NSBP not only strengthens trade connectivity but also reinforces the shared vision for growth, innovation, and sustainability between the two nations.

Features of the Nhava Sheva Business Park

Strategically located near the Nhava Sheva Port in Mumbai, NSBP offers 1 million square feet of warehousing space, with plans to expand by an additional million square feet. The facility includes specialized and temperature-controlled spaces, catering to diverse industry needs. It is designed to facilitate global trade, offering advanced infrastructure, flexible warehousing, ease of regulations, and seamless value-added services.

Integration with Global Trade Networks

NSBP is part of DP World's global network of 12 Free Trade Warehousing Zones, including the Integrated Chennai Business Park in Tamil Nadu and the Cochin Economic Zone in Kochi. These Indian FTWZs are well integrated with DP World's Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA), facilitating seamless cargo movement and strengthening global trade connectivity for India and the UAE. ​

Commitment to Sustainability

NSBP has achieved Platinum certification from the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC), becoming the first FTWZ in India to do so. The facility incorporates sustainable features such as a 1.5MW solar power system, electric material handling vehicles, water-efficient fixtures, rainwater harvesting, and waste reduction practices.

Empowering Local Communities

Demonstrating a commitment to inclusive employment, DP World has engaged local communities by recruiting 35 women from nearby areas to work at the facility. This initiative aligns with the broader goal of promoting economic empowerment and sustainability.
