Inculcate healthy lifestyle, Industries Minister urges children

Industries and Commerce Minister T.G. Bharath has called upon children to adopt a healthy lifestyle from a young age, stressing the long-term benefits of good habits for overall well-being. Speaking at a Child Dental Care programme held in Sunkal Bagh on Tuesday, the Minister highlighted the importance of both oral hygiene and regular physical activity. The event was organised by the Gujarati community in collaboration with the Indian Dental Association.

Addressing the young participants, Mr. Bharath emphasised that oral hygiene begins with simple, consistent practices. He urged children to brush their teeth twice a day once in the morning and once before bedtime to prevent dental issues and build strong dental health habits. He appreciated the initiative taken by the organisers to spread awareness about dental care among schoolchildren.

In addition to oral health, the Minister strongly advocated for an active lifestyle. He encouraged children to make exercise a daily routine and participate actively in sports, stating, “Children should make a habit of exercise and also participating in sports from a young age.” According to him, physical activity not only boosts fitness but also enhances concentration, discipline, and emotional well-being.

The programme served as a reminder to children and parents alike that health is a lifelong investment. With rising concerns over sedentary lifestyles and poor dietary habits, the Minister’s message reinforced the need for early intervention and awareness. Events like these play a crucial role in guiding children toward healthier choices, ultimately shaping a stronger and more energetic generation.
