Asaduddin Owaisi Shreds Pakistan With "Military Budget" Jibe Over Pahalgam

In a fiery address at a public meeting in Prabhani, Maharashtra, AIMIM president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi launched a scathing attack on Pakistan, holding it responsible for the recent terror incident in Pahalgam. Speaking against the backdrop of the ongoing debate over the Waqf (Amendment) Act, Owaisi did not mince words in condemning Pakistan’s role in promoting terrorism.
Pakistan: Half a Century Behind India
Highlighting the vast difference between the two nations, Owaisi said, “You are not just half an hour behind; you are half a century behind India. Your country's budget is not even equal to our military budget.” Slamming Pakistan’s constant nuclear threats, he emphasized that killing innocent people in another country is a cowardly act that no nation would tolerate. He dismissed Pakistan’s posturing, calling their nuclear threats hollow in the face of India's growing strength.
Training Terrorists to Target India
Owaisi pointed out that Pakistan had been training terrorists for several years with the sole intention of targeting India. Referring to the tragic Pahalgam attack, he mentioned that the terrorists had asked the religion of tourists before killing them. Condemning this brutality, he said, “Which religion are you talking about? You are worse than the Khawarij. This act shows you are the successors of ISIS.” His strong words reflected deep anger over the senseless violence perpetrated by terror outfits.
Call for Stronger Action Against Pakistan
The AIMIM chief urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take decisive action to weaken Pakistan economically. He highlighted that international law permits India to enforce an air blockade against Pakistan and to utilize ethical hackers to disrupt their digital systems. He stressed the need for strategic moves that could cripple Pakistan’s capability to support terrorism.
Kashmiris Are Integral to India
Owaisi also addressed the growing suspicion towards Kashmiris following terror incidents. Reaffirming the unity of India, he said, “If Kashmir is our integral part and will remain so, Kashmiris are also an integral part of India. How can we suspect them?” He praised the bravery of Kashmiris, recounting how a Kashmiri laid down his life fighting the terrorists and another Kashmiri saved an injured child by carrying him for 40 minutes.
Opposition to the Waqf (Amendment) Act
Shifting focus to domestic politics, Owaisi criticized the Waqf (Amendment) Act and appealed to people to participate in protests organized by the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB). He urged mass participation in the 'Batti Gul' programme on April 30, which calls for switching off lights as a sign of protest.
Taking on Political Leaders
Owaisi lashed out at political leaders like Ajit Pawar, Nitish Kumar, Jayant Chaudhary, and N. Chandrababu Naidu for supporting the Waqf (Amendment) Bill. He accused them of betraying the Muslim community and secular values. He even targeted Nitish Kumar for "backstabbing" yet again and criticized Chandrababu Naidu for endangering his son’s political future by aligning with policies that undermine minority rights.
Through his bold statements, Asaduddin Owaisi reinforced his reputation as a fierce advocate for justice, national integrity, and the rights of minorities, while making it clear that both internal and external threats to India would be challenged head-on.
