Adani Gangavaram Port Sets Record with 3,400 TEUs in Single Vessel Call

Adani Gangavaram Port has achieved a significant operational milestone by handling 3,400 TEUs in a single vessel call, marking the highest container volume ever managed in one transaction at the port. This achievement highlights the port’s growing strength in large-scale container handling and its rising importance on India’s East Coast trade network.

Record-Breaking Vessel Call
The record was set during the call of MSC Tracy V, a large container vessel measuring 294.05 metres in length overall (LOA). Managing such a high container volume in a single call required meticulous planning, high berth productivity, and flawless execution. The successful operation demonstrated seamless coordination between marine services, terminal operations, and landside logistics teams.

Operational Excellence and Infrastructure Strength
The milestone reflects the operational capabilities of Adani Gangavaram Port Limited, supported by its deep-draft berths, modern container-handling equipment, and integrated logistics systems. These strengths enabled smooth and timely cargo handling while maintaining safety, efficiency, and service reliability throughout the operation.

Strategic Gateway for East Coast Trade
Adani Gangavaram Port plays a crucial role as a logistics gateway for containerised cargo serving Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and neighbouring regions. This record reinforces the port’s position as a preferred hub for global shipping lines looking for efficiency, reliability, and scalable capacity on India’s East Coast.

Strong Partnership with Global Shipping Lines
To mark the achievement, Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) presented a commemorative memento to the port, reaffirming its long-standing partnership. This collaboration, built on shared service standards and operational synergy, has been instrumental in pushing performance benchmarks higher and supporting sustained growth at the port.

Looking Ahead
Adani Gangavaram Port continues to invest in digitalisation, process optimisation, and capacity enhancement to support India’s expanding container trade. Commenting on the milestone, the port management stated that handling 3,400 TEUs in a single transaction is a testament to team coordination, operational excellence, and a strong commitment to customer-centric logistics solutions. With continued investments and strategic partnerships, the port is well-positioned to play an even larger role in India’s maritime and container trade growth.
