Shares to buy or sell: Chandan Taparia recommends three stocks to buy today - 13 February 2026

The Indian stock market is expected to open on a weaker note on Friday, 13 February 2026, tracking softness in global markets. Trends on Gift Nifty also indicate a negative start for the benchmark indices   Nifty 50 and Sensex.

In the previous session, the domestic equity market witnessed sharp losses, largely due to a heavy selloff in IT stocks. The Sensex declined 558.72 points, or 0.66%, to close at 83,674.92, while the Nifty 50 settled 146.65 points, or 0.57%, lower at 25,807.20.

Amid this volatility, Chandan Taparia, Head – Derivatives & Technicals, Wealth Management, Motilal Oswal Financial Services Ltd, has recommended three stocks to buy today: Max Financial Services, Bharat Electronics (BEL), and Shriram Finance.

Nifty 50 Options Data and Trading Range

According to Taparia, on the Nifty options front, the maximum Call Open Interest (OI) is placed at the 26,000 strike followed by 25,900, while the maximum Put OI is at 25,800 followed by 25,500.

Call writing is visible at 25,900 and 25,800 strikes, whereas Put writing is seen at 25,800 and 25,700 levels. This options data suggests a broader trading range between 25,400 to 26,200 zones, with an immediate range between 25,600 to 26,000 levels.

Nifty 50 Outlook

The Nifty 50 formed a bearish candle on the daily chart and negated the higher highs – higher lows formation of the past three sessions.

As per Taparia, until the Nifty 50 holds below the 25,900 zone, weakness could extend towards 25,700 and then 25,500. However, a sustained move above 25,900 could shift momentum towards 26,000 and 26,150 levels.

Bank Nifty Outlook

The Bank Nifty index ended marginally lower by 5.60 points, or 0.01%, at 60,739.75. It formed a small-bodied candle on the daily scale, indicating buying interest at lower levels but a lack of strong momentum at higher zones.

Taparia noted that Bank Nifty is hovering above its 10 DEMA and is relatively outperforming the benchmark index. For further upside, the index needs to hold above 60,500 to move towards 61,000 and 61,250. On the downside, immediate support is placed at 60,500 and 60,250 levels.
