Nothing Phone (3a) Community Edition smartphone launched in India: Price, features and availability
Nothing has officially launched the Phone (3a) Community Edition, a limited-release smartphone built in collaboration with creators and fans worldwide. This exclusive device marks a milestone for the brand, as it pushes its Community Edition Project forward an initiative that empowers users to participate in shaping real consumer technology.
A Device Co-Created With the Community
The Phone (3a) Community Edition is not just a smartphone; it is the product of global co-creation. For 2025, Nothing invited creators to collaborate in multiple categories hardware, software, accessories, and marketing emphasising a deeper partnership beyond traditional consumer feedback.
This year, the initiative received over 700 submissions, reflecting strong enthusiasm among young designers and innovators. From these, four creators were selected to shape the final device.
Retro-Inspired Hardware & Packaging
The hardware and packaging were designed by Emre Kayganacl, who drew inspiration from the late ’90s and early 2000s an era known for bold, tech-forward aesthetics. The result is a design that blends nostalgia with Nothing’s signature transparent language, offering a refreshing visual identity in the smartphone market.
New Accessories with a Playful Edge
For the first time, the Community Edition Project included accessories. Creators Ambrogio Tacconi and Louis Aymonod developed the Dice, a unique collectible inspired by global symbols of play. Using Nothing’s Ndot 55 font, the Dice represents the brand’s playful personality and creative experimentation.
Customised Software Experience
On the software front, designer Jad Zock crafted a beautiful customised lock-screen clock with variable font weights, improving readability and reducing visual clutter.
The Phone (3a) Community Edition also comes with four specially designed wallpapers, each matching the phone’s interface and colour themes to deliver a cohesive visual experience.
A Story-Driven Marketing Campaign
The marketing campaign, titled “Made Together”, was created by Sushruta Sarkar. It highlights the journey of shared creation between Nothing and its community a narrative that celebrates openness and collaborative innovation.
The Future of Community-Driven Technology
Nothing has emphasized that this project goes beyond design. The company is introducing new initiatives such as an elected Community Board Observer and a $5 million community investment fund, part of its Series C valuation of $1.3 billion.
Early access to the fund begins December 10, with public participation starting December 11, further strengthening the brand’s commitment to shared ownership.

The Nothing Phone (3a) Community Edition is priced at Rs. 28,999, available in a single 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant.
Only 1,000 units will be produced globally, making this one of the most exclusive smartphone releases of the year.
