Dakshin Bharat Gateway Terminal (DBGT), the state-of-the-art container terminal at V.O. Chidambaranar Port, Tuticorin, has achieved a landmark operational feat with the successful handling of its largest EXIM transshipment parcel to date. This milestone further strengthens DBGT’s position as a fast-emerging transshipment hub on India’s East Coast.

Efficient Vessel Handling with Precise Timelines

The vessel M.V. Mila 3 marked its arrival on 7 December at 1200 hrs, berthed at 1345 hrs, and departed on 8 December at 0825 hrs. The seamless execution of all operations within this timeframe highlights DBGT’s operational efficiency, robust planning, and modern terminal infrastructure.

Record Cargo Movement: 1,969 TEUs Handled

During this call, DBGT handled a total of 1,969 TEUs, making it the largest EXIM transshipment parcel ever processed at the terminal. Among these, 385 twenty-foot EXIM containers intended for transshipment from Tamatave Port to New Mangalore Port were efficiently discharged and processed, reaffirming DBGT’s capability to manage high-volume and time-sensitive cargo flows.
